I had an appointment with Mr Elsaify today, he was prompt and I didn’t have to wait. He was considerate and put me at ease. He examined me, explained my condition and the potential for associated future risks versus the risks of surgical repair. I chose the surgical route and look forward to my next appointment with complete confidence.

I recently had my thyroid operated on by Dr Elsaify.I first met him 4 months prior to my operation where he went through the operation in layman’s terms explaining what was going to happen even doing me a sketch of where the lesions were and what was going to be removed and the risks associated with it .On the day of the op he came to my room to put me at ease and reassure me .I was first in theatre at 7.30 on the morning and then put in a room to recover ,later on after 13 hours on shift he came to see me before he went home to check I as ok that was 8.15 at night !!!!.Couldn’t recommend him highly enough all the staff I spoke to said said I was in safe hands and had nothing to worry about and they were right …

I attended for a laparoscopic cholecystectomy. My elsaify gave me all the options very detailed explanation about the procedure . He was very professional and reassuring and communicated with me throughout. Fantastic pre and post op care.

Dr Wael Elsaify is outstanding. I cannot praise him enough. He clearly and thoroughly diagnosed my thyroid problem, with clear descriptions and diagrams about what needed to be done. He was incredibly patient and has excellent skills and knowledge and really cares for his patients. I felt I could trust him completely and had no worries about surgery, which was explained in detail so I had no fears. He is utterly charming with a great sense of humour. Surgery was successful and a large growth was removed from my thyroid. My treatment was absolutely first class, and Mr Elsaify could not have given more care and attention. He is absolutely excellent, and I feel privileged that he was in charge of my case.

Mr Elsaify trained in endocrine and breast surgery at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle- upon -Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He then spent a year as a fellow in endocrine and breast surgery at the Nightingale Centre University Hospital of South Manchester NHS Foundation Trust.
Currently Mr Elsaify runs a wide-ranging general surgery practice in the NHS based at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesborough, where he has been employed as a fully accredited consultant breast, endocrine and general surgeon since 2011. He is also the lead clinician for endocrine surgery
His special interests are in cancer of the breast and thyroid. Mr Elsaify works closely with a team of endocrinologists to offer a multidisciplinary approach to thyroid and parathyroid dysfunction.
Mr Elsaify routinely performs gallbladder removal surgery (laparoscopic cholecystectomy) for gallbladder disease. He also carries out open and keyhole hernia repair surgery and excision of skin lesions, lumps and bumps.
